Drop Off/ Pick Up
Arrival 7:10am-7:25am: Parents who are driving their child(ren) to school will use the parent drop-off lane in the front of the building. This is a one-way only lane, so parents will need to enter from Sentry Dr. and exit onto Trackage Trail. This year we will have staff out front to open car doors, greet students and help them exit the vehicle. Please do not park, stop, or get out of your car in the drop-off lane. This blocks traffic and greatly impacts the arrival process. If you would like to get out of your car, we ask that you enter the parking lot, park, and then walk your child across to the front of the building.
When arriving at the building, students in Kindergarten and 3rd grade will enter through the doors to the east of the main office. First, 2nd, 4th, 5th grade students will enter through the main front doors; students who are eating breakfast will enter through the side cafeteria doors.
Dismissal (2:25pm): Students who are being picked up by parents will be in the front of the building with their grade level teachers. As parents arrive, we will get the child(ren)'s name and radio to the teachers. They will then dismiss students to go to the car. Again, we ask that you do not stop and get out of your car while in the pick-up line. If you prefer to park your car in the parking lot, walk across to the front of the building, and pick up your child, that is an option. Walkers will be dismissed from the west side of the building as will the bus riders. For safety reasons, we ask that parents to not park on Trackage Trail to pick up students. We have numerous buses that park there. Students who are 'parent pick up' will be waiting in the front of the building.
As we get into the school year routine and learn parents/cars, we ask that parents who are parking in the lot at the end of the day exit their car and wait along the median across the street. Please talk with your child about watching for you so that visual confirmation can be made between you and teacher, and student will then be crossed at the crosswalk to meet you. If you are a parent who is walking from a nearby neighborhood, please do not go up to your child's classroom teacher, please wait off to the side in the front. We are trying to reduce the congestion along the front sidewalk at the end of the day; this makes it easier for our teachers and students to see parents and ensure a safe dismissal. We appreciate your support on this and thank you in advance.
End of Day Transportation Changes: Our front office can be quite busy at the end of the day. If you have any changes to how your child will be going home that day (i.e. parent pick up instead of bus), please call the office by 2:00pm to let them know of these changes. This allows us to get the message to the classroom teacher prior to dismissal and ensures that students are safely getting home. Also, if you need to pick your child up early for a late-afternoon appointment, we ask that you try to do this at/before 2:00 pm. Due to the busy nature at this time of day, we are trying to limit the number of people in the front office and student movement throughout the building. Thank you for your support with this!
After school care: If your child is attending the Kids Club 360, parents will enter through the doors to the left of the main sidewalk (next to the cafeteria) to pick up their children. If your child is in our district staff daycare program, please enter through the main public entrance to pick up your child.
